That's a lot of hummers you got there! I haven't seen one in years, except in blogger's photos.

How delicate they are, and how poised. Your photos are beautiful. I'd love to see humming birds up close, but we don't have them in NZ. So thank you.

We're blessed with a wonderful variety of birds in the UK, but I'd love to add these to the list.

Wow, what a lot of hummingbirds! I haven't seen even one in several years...no, wait, I did see one this March. No idea what happened to the poor little guy, or why he was up so high in the mountains so early in the year...

Beautiful photos!

Wonderful!

In the third photo (and the fourth, I think) there's one that isn't emerald green on its back. Is that the light or an immature one or what? I'd read that east of the Rockies we get nothing but ruby-throated hummingbirds, but that one looks different!

I'm jealous! I never get hummers like that anymore. Maybe one or two at a time, while years ago there were so many it seemed like they'd be waiting in line for a drink. Great pictures!

ha. hummingbirds are so cool....we have them flit around the flowers by the back porch and they will fly up and stare right at you....

How on earth did you get them all to share so nicely? It's usually open warfare when more than one shows up! Wonderful photos, Vicki; hummers are so hard to get a good picture of.

June, I think it's an immature one -- I think many of these are.

Karen -- Having all the feeding ports occupied is new for us -- usually one surly male keeps all the others away.

It's Party Time at Vicki's feeder! Lovely photos. An event to be sure.

Fantastic photos! You've captured their territorial nature so well!

I am so impressed. We have never put out a multi-'seat' humm feeder and had them feed peacefully together. It's always been a war to drive off everyone else.

What beauty to see them all!

Hummers make me smile...just seeing them spreads delight throughout my entire body. Thanks!

Ohhh, I'd love to see those for real. Apparently scientists & engineers are doing studies of how their wings change shape to help them hover. They are going to help develop flying robots!
