I sense such a balance of compassion and practicality in you, Vicki. I've never really understood the ability to be a farmer with livestock; to be able to give love and great care, while also being able to release that life into an early death (male calves, chickens, etc). Some people are able to bring grace into this aspect of living on the land, and I feel this in you. Blessings.
On the flip side, with humor holding court, the last line sure did have me LOL...
I just love the cow humor! You might need to do a picture book with your clever captions. Sounds a lot easier than writing a novel. But DO write another novel.

Excellent!
Wow, by the looks of her udder, she should "pop" any day!
*snort* I remember that feeling!!
I drive past a bison farm each day and have been looking out for the calves there - so tiny and cute compared to their mothers! All brown and fuzzy.
So it's true. A female is even more beautiful when pregnant!
Yum. All those good things---cottage cheese, Mozarella, cream, cream cheese, milk and butter that has a "taste"...all close at hand, now! Lucky you!

I thought some of you ladies might remember the feeling...

It is always nice to get some encouragement from a friend. Can't wait to see the calf, when it arrives.
Good luck sweet animal.
Wonderful. Aren't cows the loveliest creatures!
