yes, they have it right, but so do you nothing like a brisk walk outside on a nice cold day... your home is so cozy love the tiles around the fireplace
Crisp and clear outside and warm and cosy in. Wonderful photos. I love the world you show me in your words and photos, I would so love to see it for myself. Have a wonderful Christmas and holiday season.
Where do I get to sit? It will involve moving someone, that's for sure. Maybe Willa will make room . . . And speaking of Willa, she's doing great. Full of energy and wanting to run. Our attempts to keep her calm are laughable.
Yes, our animals are lucky to have a reasonably competent staff. (The cats, of course, find us just barely adequate.) But Maggie was happy that we were there to wash her down with peroxide and baking soda when she got skunked at 4 am this morning.

I'm the author of The Elizabeth Goodweather Appalachian Mysteries from Bantam Dell. The series includes SIGNS IN THE BLOOD (LA MONTAGNE DES SECRETS in France), ART'S BLOOD, (LE SECRET DES APPALACHES in France,) OLD WOUNDS,IN A DARK SEASON (Anthony Nominee, Best PBO), and UNDER THE SKIN. There's also THE DAY OF SMALL THINGS (a spinoff/standalone)chronicling the unexpected life story of Miss Birdie, one of Elizabeth's neighbors.
I came to this weird business late (my first novel was published in 2005) and am still trying to figure it out.
As my novels are set in a place much like my real life home, I thought I'd use this blog to share pictures of our farm and county. I've been blogging for over five years now, on an almost daily basis, and the topics have ranged from writing, chickens, food, books, quilts, flora and fauna of all sorts, to the occasional tiny rant. There's no plan, but there are lots of pictures.

i think the cats and the dogs have the right idea...
Best place to be when it's cold outside.
We could learn a lot from our animals. I can't stand being cold.
Your pets have chosen the right spots to be when winter is coming. Thanks for showing your surroundings! Your house looks very warm and cosy.
Everyone its own spot... and yours is right now behind the camera. Which one will you move a little so you can relax too?
They look perfectly settled and cozy! So, where do you get to sit? :)
Looks like all your furry friends have the right idea. How is Willa doing?
Such a contrast of winter scenes...
each makes you appreciate the other!
The troops all look comfortable. I suppose we would too if we had all the domestic help they have ;-) Jim

Is there room for me? I grew up with a fireplace so I miss that in the winter months.
Your dogs are getting fit for Christmas, aren't they?
The same sort of day here today, brilliant sunshine, only you have nature in full view all of the time. Beautifully captured!
LOL I love it!:-)

Some expert nappers in your household.
Oooh they all look so cosy, sitting on your couches. What a lovely scene of happiness!
I suppose you have to squeeze in wherever you can?
Hello Vicki
Is there room for me on the couch?
Have a great evening.
Best
Tracy :)
It all looks so cozy by the fire.
Very smart bunch of animals you got there.
Love the pics! Willa looks like she's lived there forever.
Oh, poor Maggie! Poor you, too, of course ...
And I agree: your house looks ... well, home-y, if you know what I mean. Welcoming, warm, comfortable psychologically as well as physically.
