Wow, those are beautiful! I've never seen Japanese Irises before, although they faintly resemble the wild irises that grow up here.

Blogger won't let me sign in, so I'm going to try posting anonymously.

Wonderful photographs and beautiful flowers!

These are the last of the iris to bloom and oh, so welcome. I had three and have just bought a fourth. They seem to like where they're planted and keep multiplying -- most satisfactory!

My personal favorites. They seem so feminine and delicate compared to other irises.

Wow, I can't believe it! Just today I threatened to stop on the road and knock on a person's front door to ask about their strange and exotic chopped-off irises. They are so beautiful, and I don't recall having ever seen them before. Then I get on blogger today, for the first time in a couple of weeks, and well, look at your post!! Too funny. So nice to know what they are. They are lovely and surprising, wonder why I've not noticed them before??

Quite unusual, I've never seen those before but I love the different shades of mauve.
