Two Years

December 26 -- it's been two years that this blog has been running and I'd like to write something profound but it's nearing the end of a long Christmas Day filled with food and family and friends -- as well as quite a bit of sparkling wine.

So I'll just say that I'm still really enjoying nattering away about inconsequential odds and ends and that hearing from so many of you is a great pleasure to me.

As I did last year, I'll do another drawing for a copy of the long-awaited Miss Birdie book. If you'd like to be included, just leave a comment saying 'Count me in' before January 6.

Tammy was the winner last year (and she's still waiting - how embarrassing.) This year I'll draw two names -- and with any luck, there will be books to send out by September. Or if you'd rather have a copy of one of the other books, I can do that instead.

Hope your Christmas Day -- however you may or may not celebrate it -- was excellent. Ours began with a heavy rain which got rid of most of the snow and by late afternoon the clouds were rolling away, as you can see in the picture above.

And our power is still on, hurrah!

Hello Vicki,
So you have had a white Christmas. How nice that must be.
I wish you a perfect, peaceful week and a creative coming year full of joy and prosperity.
Please count me for a copy of Miss Birdie book. :o)

It's hard to believe it's been two years Vicki, but oh I've enjoyed your blog! Congrats!!

You can 'count me in' on the drawing ... even though my TBR pile grew over Christmas, and I know it won't be gone by September, your book will be priority on the day it comes, whether it's from you or

Vicki, you know it's "Count Me In" for me!!! I've missed you but knew that your power was off - as was the majority of Madison County - I do hope that you had a very Merry Christmas and a very Happy and Healthy New Year!

Count me in, Vicki, I still think about the passage that you had on your Amazon blog last year. I know Miss Birdie's book is going to be a gem that I want to have in my collection.

Happy holidays Vicki, congratulations on blogging for two years. Count me in please. Hugs, Margie.

Hey Vicki! So glad the power stayed on for your celebration! Two years! Congrats! I've read EVERY post! Count me in on that book!!

Counting away, you all!

My TBR pile has just grown too, Pat. I'm trying to read them all at once -- what a delightful dilemma!

I've enjoyed your 'nattering away' too over the past two years. My how time flies. You have such a variety from day to day that it's always fun to see what the next post is going to be.
Glad you are back in business with the power. It's cold here, with a skiff of snow, and the wind is horrible. All the animals are practically hysterical. Of course with the sheep it may just be the thoughts of more raisin/cinnamon bagels (they cleaned out the freezers again where I work! woot)! Take care. I'm doing nothing that I don't have to do today!

Hi Vicki! You had a lovely Christmas by the look of it! I love your white Christmas header.
When is your next mystery book about Elizabeth ready?
Please count me in on a copy of Miss Birdie! Have a lovely weekend!

The Smokies look very wintry and misty in your picture today, Vicki. It is nice to be back in Tennessee for Christmas. I saw the Smokies clearly this afternoon on the way into Knoxville and the Cumberland range on the way back! Aren't I lucky!
Two years, my goodness, time flies doesn't it.
Blessings, Star

Thank you, Tammy! And I've really enjoyed following your adventures with the sheep and other critters at Fairlight Farm! (Glad you're having a day off!)

Especially beautiful pictures at your blog today, Reader Wil! The Miss Birdie book won't be out til September 28 of next year -- and the next Elizabeth book in 2011 (I'm still working on it.)

Welcome back to the USA, Star! Hope the weather stays pleasant!

That last photo looks like a beautiful painting of wide, open spaces. What a wonderful place you do live in. (Could do without the power and water downside, though, eh?!)

Hello, Jinksy! Thanks for stopping by! I believe I've noted your comments over at Square Sunshine.
I checked your profile and was absurdly pleased to see that you live in Havant. I've actually been there, about ten years ago as we were traveling south, and have pleasant memories of chatting with a very nice lady while I was doing our wash at a launderette.

Yes, we live in such a beautiful place that the occasional inconveniences are easy to bear.

Count Me In, Please!!

Vicki - I'm so woefully behind in reading my favorite blogs - placing yours at the tippy top, due to the recent unpleasantness of no power in these NC mountains, but I'm getting caught up and am, as always, enjoying your stories and your beautiful photos. You are a major inspiration to me, missy.

Happy Blog Birthday - and here's to many more!!
