I'm wondering what lively tune they're playing. I'm going to be in need of some peppy music. As of last night, I was in the closing chapters of my proof reading. Now for the Christmas preparations -- cooking, cleaning (roust those dogs off the sofas,) wrap and mail packages, pull out holiday decor . . . aye, law, let the revels commence!

Very festive indeed. You know, the girl in the foreground of this group is holding the whole thing together. Her stance, her energy and enthusiasm..it's enough to get anyone up out of their seats.
Although all my shopping is done, I'm making my lists as far as visiting goes (different work schedules, different states, shared children), baking, decorating, etc. Time seems to be flying by ...
I love the decorated sculptures! I think they may be playing "Rocking Around The Christmas Tree". I'm still decorating and Eric is making me a table for the Dickens Villages. I'm gonna start making candy and baking this week. :)
I was fortunate to be spared a lot of shopping and John made most of the gifts. But there's still a bunch to be done ... making chili today to feed the gang that will be here Sunday to help decorate the tree.

Great holiday cheer, I love the touch of whimsy - never seen any sculptures decorated for the holidays (at least, I don't remember).
I am still deep into archiving, interrupting only to do end of year bookkeeping. I hope that by the weekend I feel ready to add some Christmas cheer to our abode.

This reminds me of the bronze sculpture of Lenin, who wears a Santa hat, this time of year at the manor!
I know what they are playing – they are playing some bluegrass tunes. I went to a bluegrass festival close to us in Dallas, GA and that music was invigorating. There was a couple in their 70s no, more like 80s, dancing and having a good time. To me bluegrass and jazz are the two great American music forms – also gospel, the kind they sing in African American churches. Great sound all.
I tried to find a suitable old time string band clip to embed but failed. Bluegrass would be a good choice too. When we lived in Florida back in the 70's we went to lots of bluegrass festivals -- lots of energy, all right!
Hi Vicki, I have tried, long time ago, being as a sculpture and it is very,very difficult,couldn´t do it not even for 2 min... have you try??

Although I've seen the sculptures many times-I've never seen them decked out for Christmas-neat!

The spirit is moving indeed -- I've got my great-grandmother's red, green and white quilt up and have cleared a space to make room for the Christmas tree. It's a slow process but eventually we'll get 'er done!
