Dawn Like Thunder

I wish I could claim this great picture. My husband took it a few mornings ago, well before sun up.
Just look at the colors! Blown up to screen size, it's amazing . . . should have a Big Epic soundtrack to go with it.

I always think of the old rhyme --

"Red sky at morning,
Sailor take warning.
Red sky at night,
Sailor's delight."

In this case, however, it was a farmer's delight that the red morning sky foretold -- welcome rain.
It came with a midnight thunderstorm that had three dogs on the bed with us, shivering and panting while lightning lit up the night sky
and thunder rolled above us, like God rearranging Heaven's furniture.

Great picture. Don't we live in the most beautiful area? I love these mountains.

Sure wish you could send some of that rain my way, though. Back to drought conditions around here. Sky got dark yesterday, but the "promised" rain never materialized.
