Hope

Looking at pictures of the multitudes at the NO KINGS rallies yesterday fills me with hope. Hope for the preservation of our democracy. Hope for a return to civility. And hope for a new day for this sadly divided country.

I always try to be hopeful, but it's a cautious hope.

We’re all hoping here north of you. Almost all anyway.

The people, en masse, show a different kind of power to that which is being perpetrated by the politicians and ICE.

There looked to be masses of people everywhere so that is good.

I am in awe at how well these rallies and marches were organized, with care taken to (re)direct traffic (where police weren't already doing that) and keeping things moving and calm. It took a lot of preparation and planning, and a lot of hard work all the way through.

It all seemed patriotic and good-natured. The only arrest I know of was the woman in Fairhope Alabama for indecent exposure (she was fully covered).
