It's a tough time right now.
The impending election is always on my mind--a choice between a man and a party of lies and denial, hatred, xenophobia, fearmongering, and threatened violence, and a woman and party that, though admittedly imperfect, have a commonsense, humanitarian approach to many of the problems that beset us.
Yet many of my fellow citizens will choose the former, even against their own best interest.
Living in the aftermath of disaster has brought out the best in many--and now we are beginning to see the worst in some-- a distrust of FEMA exacerbated by widespread disinformation. Again, against their own best interest.
May we come through this trying time.

Feeling the stress is common for lots of us. But I try to be hopeful.
I certainly hope Harris/Walz will win. But more important I hope more Democrats will be elected to congress. For my own vote in a gerrymandered district, I fear it will not have much sway in pushing for what I want. Such is my own situation, but I still have hopes for the rest of the state/nation. The future is coming closer by the minute.
I feel the same way, Vicki. I read this morning that FEMA has pulled personnel out of Rutherford County because trucks full of "armed militia" are roaming the county "looking for FEMA." trump was president for four years. He know what FEMA does. Yet he spreads toxic lies.
Whoever thought we'd live to witness a proven scum like this hotly contesting an election in the leading country of the free world.
Larry is feeling the stress too Vicki, even though he is over here in England now. I cannot understand how so many people are taken in by Trump and his lies. Even when his lies are proven, he still denies and people still trust in him. What is going on with people these days?
