John and Friends

In spite of temperatures almost to the sixties (F) yesterday, our road between the barn and house remains icy, requiring chains on any vehicle wanting to make it to the top.

John walked down early to feed the chickens and Layla and Bobs were delighted, running in big circles through the sleeping garden and having a great game of tag.

Then, as John got to the top of the road, they had to run to catch up and beat him to the porch -- a point of honor evidently.

Dogs and their games -- they know how to have fun.

Can't believe you have that much snow and ice, with temps near 60!

Good exercise for man and beast.

Yes, shady northern exposure areas still have snow piles...and where they have been traveled upon, has turned into stone hard ice. I found this in a parking lot of a local pharmacy, where the plow had pushed snow to the front of the parking spaces, people had walked upon it, and now you can't get to the sidewalk from your car without ice skating. Love the tale of the dogs!

Dogs are so like young children. They both play with pure joy and abandon.

Small children and dogs -- always make me smile when they are playing in the great outdoors.

Wonderful action photography, Vicki.

It was warm in NYC today, and just about all of last weekend's blizzard snow has melted along the streets and sidewalks.

I am chagrined to admit that I never got over to Central Park to see the snow's beauty there.

Somehow, I think in my heart of hearts that more snow might yet fall this winter, and I will have another chance at some Park photo ops.

Your temps sound like ours, but we don't have any of that lovely white stuff...yet! We should all take our health clues from dogs....just every now and then run with abandon...it's bound to be good for us!
