Glorious Rain!

A midnight thunderstorm rattled the windows and lit up the sky with heavenly fireworks.

At first it was in the distance. There was no rain and we worried that it might miss us.

But then we heard the welcome rattle of rain  on the metal roof .

A steady succession of storms brought us a most welcome inch and a half in the rain gauge.

And we are all of us -- plants, animals, and people --

Very thankful.

And it sure helps to cool things down, even if it's temporary!

It's such a relief when the weather breaks like that. I just wish it would break the opposite way for us. A little more sunshine please!

We are going to be gasping for some rain if it doesn't come soon. I'm glad to see raindrops on leaves, even if they're only in photographs. Everything looks so freshened up!

Beautiful rain. Hopefully it will help all of you: Nature and People.

I'm glad you got rain, and such a nice amount. We got a quick rain Sunday night and have our fingers crossed for more today.

Yes, welcome rain! Now if we could do something about the heat...

Maybe your Cotswalds reverie encourage nature to contribute local showers?

Both sets of photos are beauties.

Best wishes.

That inch and 1/2 looks wonderful. Thunder teased us last night and our neighbors 10 miles up the road got a nice drenching. So not fair!

Have a wonderful day!

Ahhh...such lovely and refreshing photos! We got our gully-washers overnight on Sunday. It washed our driveway out a bit, but we were grateful for it nonetheless, as it was so terribly dry here.

We are happy for you, and desperately envious, too.

It was wonderful! And a bit cooler this morning though it managed to heat up pretty well in the afternoon. Here's hoping Martin gets his sunshine and those of us who'd like rain get that. . .
