Almost Wordless Wildacres

I'm back and catching up with real life. Tomorrow I'll talk about Wildacres and come visiting and see what my blog friends have been up to. For today, here are some pictures I've  played with a bit.

Welcome home, I've missed you! Looks like you saw some rain. It's been raining like crazy here, but the rain has managed to keep the temps down.

Welcome back home, Vicki!

Your pictures are very beautiful to begin with, and I also like what you did with them, makes for very interesting takes of the originals. I especially like the images 1, 2, and 8.

Good have you back in blogland, Vicki. Interesting photographs. Have you been using filters?

Good having you back home. I like the pictures, and the twist you put on some of them. Looking forward to hearing about your time away.

nice...the filter you use makes them a bit mysterious, adds just a bit of over realism..some really cool shots....

welcome back. smiles.

Welcome back! Missed you! Lovely photos. Are you doing your "editing" with Picasa?

Welcome home Vicki, we've missed you. Looks like you had a lot of rain there or perhaps you chose it for a more mysterious look. You've created some gems.

Gorgeous photos, and I loved your Picasa editing of them. Glad to see you back in blogland. Missed you with my morning coffee. Kept adding more sugar, creamer...just didn't taste right without the "Mysteries" twist.

And I've missed you all -- shall be visiting later -- after I catch up with the laundry and go pick the beans.

We did indeed have lots of rain and fog -- many of my pictures weren't that good -- hence these that have been altered via Picasa (which has added some very nifty features -- what I've used in most of these is a combination of HDR-ish -- no, I don't know what that means -- and cross-processing -- also a mystery to me.)

No filters, Martin.

I really like those too, Merisi. They remind me of Japanese block prints.

Bees, Joan.

Such fun, what you can do to liven up pictures that don't work too well. But I can imagine the moodiness there. I love the mystery of rain and fog.
Happily waiting for your report. :-)

They evoke memories of Boy Scout outings. It's always the miserable, wet ones that are best remembered.

Cool pics! I haven't been visiting at all this summer, as I've been so busy with my recent move. Wanted to stop by and see what you're up to, and also let you know that I met someone this past week who knows you! She lives in Madison County, so must be a "neighbor" - and she loves your books. Hope you're having a good summer!

Wonderful photos! Interesting one of the regal moth---the effect almost makes it look as though it's made of paper.

Welcome back...hope you enjoyed your week. Wildacres looks like such a neat place.

Like Paul Signac in photography! So nice.

Missed your beautiful blog while you were away--love the effects here. You started me playing around with Picasa as well. And, of course, you have an artist's eye!

Glad you are back safe and sound. I'll bet the garden has really grown with the heat and the rain and there are lots of veggies to harvest. I'm looking forward to hearing about the week.

Beautiful pictures Vicki. Welcome back!

Absolutely gorgeous, almost made me speechless looking at all that beauty.

Good point, W. Stranger -- I have VERY fond memories of rainy Girl Scout camping weekend. I think it was more fun because some of the planned events had to be canceled and we were left to our own devices.

Therese -- I had to look up Paul Signac -- and the first picture I saw http://www.ibiblio.org/wm/paint/auth/signac/ showed me exactly what you meant!

NC Mtnwoman -- the garden is thriving -- I had a zucchini omelet for breakfast, such are the necessary strategies to avoid vegetable inundation...

Very moody and mysterious photos. I wonder if they sum up your week there?

Glad you are back- I hope you had a fabulous time!

Jennyfreckles -- not exactly... It was partly serious -- the work at hand -- but there was, as Monty Python put it, a lot of silly, knees bent running about. Of which, more tomorrow...
