Miss Susie had to be put outside -- I was getting ready to rinse out the birds and apply the dry rub -- when I roast them tomorrow, she'll get some.

I've been cooking all day -- pumpkin flan is in the refrigerator, a pecan pie is cooling, my grandmother's cranberry gelatin salad is ready, the pumpkin/thyme rolls are rising in the cold back room, my grandmother's cheese shortbread biscuits are sealed away, waiting for tomorrow (perfect with Bloody Marys).

Tomorrow I'll roast the turkeys, make the dressing and the gravy and saute the green beans
Our company are bringing spanokopita, roasted root veggies, salads and salsas -- I hope we'll have enough.

Well, now, be realistic.
For quality control of Bird Edibility, who better than The Cat?

So funny- she reminds me of my nosy kitkat. I'm sure she is just keeping an eye on the birds. Happy Thanksgiving Vicki!

Aw, how cute! Miss Susie was really trying to help you in her own way!

LOL!! You are braver than me. I have similar photos but have never had the guts to post them. I have friends who would never come to my house to eat again! Of course, one could make the argument that such friends are better off staying home anyway, but... I do occasionally cater to the "non-cat" people in my life, strange though they are to me. :)

Your meal sounds as though it's going to be superb. Wish I could get my share along with Miss Susie :). Have a wonderful day!

Ha, we've got a cat who got really excited when he saw the turkey arrive from the grocery store and he knows it's in the fridge. Every year he tries to swipe it, like the Bumpis family dogs in "A Christmas Story."

Well, someone has to guard the turkey from scurilous predators. Miss Susie is such a hard worker.

Any chance of getting the cheese shortbread biscuit recipe? Excuse the drooling.

My look-a-like kitty finally died last month after 22 years of just looking. What a photo op. I'm going to hazard a guess that you have a large group getting together judging from the looks of those turkeys!

Deanna, I am so sorry about your Miss Susie lookalike kitty. We have one too, SamCat. He's 21, and even more senile than I am. But making us all believe he's only used up one of those nine lives.

Happy Thanksgiving
Kath
