Smoky Mountain Haze

They say God cast a veil of mist over these beautiful mountains so mountain folks in Heaven wouldn't look down and be homesick...

If you missed my post on Creeping Woo-woo (the vortex kept eating the link...), it's still there at Jungle Red . . .

It's disappointing to have mist when you want to photograph scenery but very often as you have proved here simple is effective with the layered depth of field shades.

Jungle Red isn't working for me. The link, I mean.

I wish I could photograph mists here in the valley, they usually go together with grey, which makes a very dull photo indeed.

Thank you very much for your kind words about my writing, Vicki; it means a lot coming from a professional. (that is if you meant it - 'not good enough' being my mantra). Now all I have to do is find the right balance between obsessive writing and life.

Fabulous photo Vicki. You've captured a typical mountain morning beautifully. Love the mountain saying about Heaven too.

When my daughter was born, my mother that it was good luck that the day was rainy. No jealous gods could look down and envy my perfect baby.

Hello Vicki

I love the first sentence and the mist makes the pictures so peaceful to look at.

I enjoyed reading your post over at Jungle Red.

Best
Tracy :)

The mist goes along with the woo woo! I'm back in California and missing those mountains.

I love mountains in the mist and your pictures do them justice. Anyone would be homesick for such beauty.
