I suppose I'm simple minded. But the thread for me is the color red. And that beauty while obvious in the rose, is everywhere when Vicki takes the photo.
You all are good at finding meanings -- all English majors, no doubt.
The fact is that they were all pictures I took the day before and I chose the four I liked the best. Then I wondered why. I decided that the reds and oranges were the link. But dang! you all came up with really good ones. Life and death, anomalies, the unexpected -- wow!
The knight is a pottery sculpture that sits in Justin and Claui's front yard. He actually has a face that he's meant to be holding in his hand but for fear of the dogs stealing it, J and C have it in their house.
I don't know why Blogger won't let the pictures enlarge any more -- they used to...
Yes, Martin, that's a wood splitter. John's been filling his idle hours busting up firewood.
And JJ -- that tree was leaning and about to fall. Also, it's shading a field where we need sunshine to grow things. I know what you mean about cutting trees but we heat with wood plus on our 100+ acres we have lots and lots of trees.
I'm still on the go -- class tonight, a book event tomorrow, a party for the upcoming collaborative novel Friday night, and a gig at a writers' conference on Saturday. After which, all I have to do is to get ready for Thanksgiving...

So glad the photos are here now! Love that first one; such a beautiful bloom!
That little rose is usually a lovely soft coral -- this bloom had one darker section.
So glad to tune in to your point of view again!!
Celebration of beautiful life and death.
Celebration of beautiful life and death.
Anamolies?
Make that "anomalies!" Or perhaps its a test for dyslexia?
i dont want to avoid looking at trees being cut because it is clearly there and it is so sad but i wanna concentrate on that beautiful rose.

There is a thread.
The thread is red.
And destruction. And decay.
A thread of life ... slipping away.--Mario
Coming across the unexpected? No, wait, that wouldn't include the woodpile. Hmmm...

is that a knight in your yard?
That is a log-splitter in the last picture, isn't it?
I SO wish you didn't have lightbox, so I could enlarge these to full screen. I'd love to have a better look at that sculpture, or whatever it is.
I love the splashes of red, scenes of winter approaching, and yet more views into your world.

Your on-the-go list had me exhausted and heading back to bed, Vicki... ;-)
Hello Vicki
Wonder what color the rose will finally be(light or dark pink)?
Have a great week end!
Best
Tracy :)
