Aflame
The vortex post will be tomorrow -- meabwhile, here are some pretty pictures . . . Really, I'd thought I was done with autumn leaves and then, at the school where my Wednesday night classes meet, there was this absolutely GLORIOUS row of maples. . .
WOW! Spectacular! I wouldn't have been able to resist taking photos, either. I also feel like Autumn is so fleeting, one just can't have too many pictures of it.
Aren't the maples amazing? Among the first to change color, and now they are still showering us with the reds! I also heard chattering of leaves in the wind today...or maybe branches against each other. Lovely! I'm lucky to be close to the Blue Ridge Parkway.
I've had the same experience today. I thought it was all basically over, the glorious color show along with the need to keep my camera within arm's length at all times. Sadly, I bid goodbye to October, and grudgingly welcomed November. But today, as I ran errands around town, I was surprised. Here and there, after a row of bare limbed trees, suddenly an explosion of color!

Surprisingly there was not much color in New England while I was there. There's more here in NC/SC which is unusual. Great pics.
