Butterflies are becoming sadly scarce in our area. Everybody (except us) dumps and sprays toxic chemicals on their property and the butterflies disappear. We have continued to have some butterflies on our two big butterfly bushes though, and they're wonderful to see. The yellow swallowtails seem to be the most resilient. When we moved here more than 30 years ago and I planted my big garden, I would count two dozen species of butterflies
living in our yard, and the butterfly bushes had 50 or more butterflies at one time. Now we celebrate if we see half a dozen together.

These are excellent shots of the beautiful butterflies and blossoms...I never get them in focus this well!
