Happy Thanksgiving to Everyone !



Up early to get the turkey in the oven. Below is our projected menu.

THANKSGIVING 2008
Noon if you want to listen to Alice’s Restaurant. Noon-thirty if you don’t

VICKI
Cream cheese w/smoked salmon and crackers
Turkey, dressing, gravy,
Ba's cranberry gelatin salad

AILEEN
Apple pies and the famous homemade cinnamon ice cream
Sweet potatoes
Appetizer?

CLAUI
Pomegranate/ squash/ arugula salad
Mashed Potatoes
Apple Cider

NANCY L.
Fig chutney/Cotswold cheese/pickled onions/hearty bread tray
Rolls

LOUISE
Tapenade and super-seeded crackers
Green salad,
Inflamed parsley sauce(a pesto),
Pear and cranberry chutney (salsa).
Green beans

NAOMI
Vegetable platter


This is what's on the menu at our house. -- all these good women pitching in to make a feast.
There'll be fourteen of us at the table and we'll be giving thanks for family and friends.

May your Thanksgiving be full of good things -- and my heartfelt thanks to all of you for your friendship. You are among my blessings.

Hi Vicki, sounds good. I want the cinnamon ice cream recipe!!! We are just having the usual pumpkin pie. And we are trying to consume the dozens of butternuts our garden produced, so I guess we'll have one of those.
Jim gave me 2 Hungarian cookbooks. I'll let you know how the walnut pastry turns out. And the goulash!
So far no recipe for cottage cheese dumplings, though. K

Happy Thanksgiving, Vicki. Hope you and your family have a wonderful day. We are twelve at my table today - Mom is doing the stuffing and sweet potatoes and cranberry sauce - I am doing the bird, mashed potatoes, haricot vertes and brussell sprouts. Tomorrow we are off to SW Wisconsin for a weekend at the farm our friends own - 250 acres and a little cabin on a pond - I will be staying close to the woodstove! There will be five dogs so it's always an adventure. Best to you ~Liz
