But then, I am one of those odd people who truly enjoys much of the writing of that period in British literature.KarenBnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-764237570467034909.post-74210536322392191752017-09-10T10:25:24.435-04:002017-09-10T10:25:24.435-04:00Carol, I'd be interested to know what your boo...Carol, I'd be interested to know what your book club thought.Vicki Lanehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08114677510459055768noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-764237570467034909.post-11326911281199587102017-09-10T09:48:27.813-04:002017-09-10T09:48:27.813-04:00Count me among the many who have started MIDDLEMAR...Count me among the many who have started MIDDLEMARCH time and again and put it down time and again. Unless you can convince me otherwise, I will probably never read this book. But for some reason it remains on my library shelves. I subscribe to the "so many books, so little time" theory and won't spend time reading something purely because some list tells me I should. But I do have an open mind and look forward to your final review. You are one busy woman and if you use your valuable time reading this, perhaps I'll give it another try. Maybe.NCmountainwomanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00615765649828716560noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-764237570467034909.post-15708729014930833242017-09-10T08:57:01.430-04:002017-09-10T08:57:01.430-04:00I don't think that you can persuade me. :)I don't think that you can persuade me. :)Anvilcloudhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07974744042579564912noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-764237570467034909.post-41853558738940278592017-09-10T08:55:52.697-04:002017-09-10T08:55:52.697-04:00Oh my, today I hear about a book which I've av...Oh my, today I hear about a book which I've avoided. And it's the birthday of Franz Werfel, who wrote The Song of Bernadette, which was the most read book in 1941 which I also have never read. (It's also Mary Oliver's birthday.) But there are already too many books I WANT to read. Now you've challenged me to make an effort on some that don't call to me. Maybe, just for you...as an exercise in understanding writing better.Barbara Rogershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08351113054045427775noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-764237570467034909.post-3988731121579965672017-09-10T08:44:08.178-04:002017-09-10T08:44:08.178-04:00My book club is discussing this book tomorrow!
