Down in the Back

All this cooking has me "down in the back"--as the folks around here used to say. It's an unspecified back pain that feels like a muscle spasm and, if the heating pad and rest don't work, is best dealt with by what I call the Big Pill--a generic Percoset.

I try to avoid the Big Pill but holidays and the attendant kitchen time make it inevitable.

Better living through chemistry!

Sorry to hear your back pain is part of preps for the holiday. Hope you can enjoy the feast and family gathering thanks to chemistry!

For both Sue and me, kitchen work is tough on the upper back between the shoulder blades. We're a pathetic pair.

It's sitting still too long that does my back in. I just have to keep moving. I hope yours is just a temporary inconvenience and doesn't spoil the holiday.

We no longer celebrate food-centered holidays because I am now incapable of standing long enough to cook. Vicki, I hope those coming to your house for Thanksgiving will bring most of the food. You've done this for decades. You should be able to enjoy the day with family and guests instead of being in pain. Time for a new tradition?😄
